A day for blogging.

Today of all day, is to chilly and wet for outside work, and I’m way to active for a rest day.  So I’ve made today a blogging day!  Not for me to blog(although I guess I am blogging about it), but for me to catch up on all the blogs I’m subscribed to / subscribed to me.

I love reading about everyone’s life, especially when their lives are so similar to mine!

When I first started my blog, I was very cautious.  I have been warned all my life (and have lectured others) about the dangers of the internet.  I have had friends hurt because of the things people have done with the internet.  And I’ve have a certain friend (who shall remain an anonymous) who has talked to many strangers on the internet and has gotten themselves into some very sticky situations because of it.  So, you can see why I would be cautious about posting my LIFE online..

When I started blogging, I never thought that a few months into it I would be posting my picture to my blog for everyone to see.  And though I’m still a bit weary, I’ve learned that yes, there are creeps on the internet, but they aren’t the ones blogging, and commenting, and liking the stuff in here.  They are the ones lurking in chat-rooms, or secretly looking at your stuff without you knowing.

There are so many people on this sight that are just like me, trying to homestead, teaching others (weather knowingly or not) about homesteading, and sometimes, just talking about random life events.  And you know what?  I love it!

I love reading about people’s animals, and hope that someday I will have animals too.  I love reading about disasters homesteaders have, some I have experienced myself and can relate to, others I’m sure will happen to me over time.  And I love reading about the projects other homesteaders are working on on their properties.

I may not always get time to read everyone’s blogs, but once in a while, on a day like today, I get to sit in the kitchen while waiting on Banana Bread to be done in the oven and read through all of the blog posts of the week in my newsfeed.

So here’s for a day of blogging..  I raise a glass of warm pumpkin tea to you, and share a picture of my fried banana bread lunch. 🙂
