What college students are looking forward to during winter break:

Winter Break is almost here!

So, with winter break right around the corner, I decided to go around today and ask a few people around college what they were most excited to do once this semester was over.  Some answers were predictable.  Others, were quite surprising.

Here are just a few things that the students around here are excited to do once the tests are over and the smoke clears from our heads after finals week..

Listen to music and watch TV.  -M.F.

Nothing!  -S.M.

Sleep!  -L.D.

Work.  -S.W.

Play video games.  -M.J.

Babysitting!  -S.M.

Travel.  -A.C.

Get a job.  -C.C.

Relax.  -E.G.

Sleep in!  -C.J.

Not think about homework!  -P.F.

Play video games!  -I.B

Move back home.  -C.B.

Relaxing, no homework!  -J.W.

(I think my favorite has got to be the ‘not think about homework’ one!)

It was so much fun getting to see what everyone’s plans are once winter break comes along!  Me personally, I’m going to take that day to just sit back, relax, and read a non-school related book!  I feel like it’s been too long since I’ve just had the time to just sit down in a quite room and read a book (that I wasn’t being graded on)..

What are your plans during the holidays?  Do you get a ‘winter break’ of sorts?  If so, what are YOU most looking forward to?

As always, have an amazing day, smile, and don’t wish for the snow ‘quite’ yet..!!!

  1. What a cute post. Three people wanna work and two wanna play video games. And the other five wanna relax, which includes sleeping. 🙂

So what book are ya wanting to read for pleasure over break? That said, what type of non-school books do ya like?

    • Lol, I’m planning on reading some of ‘The Heroes of Olympus’ series. It’s kind of becoming a tradition for me to read them around Christmas time, it’s normally the only time I get to just sit back and relax, and I’ve gotten new books for Christmas the past two years. I love reading books over and over again, so I’ll probably read the Harry Potter series or Twilight again sometime during winter break. What type of books do you like reading for fun?

      • Girl, I gotta long list! I’ll be back with it later today. Or by tomorrow morning. 🙂 My oldest son has read all the Harry Potter books whereas I’ve watched all the movies. LOL! But, I did read all the Twilight books years ago. I think it took me a month, or a little over, to devour them all! No joke! That’s when the passion for writing struck! I also watched all the Twilight movies with my oldest daughter who was a teen at the time. FYI: my friend LOVES your hats but somehow thinks (assumes) I made them because she asked how much I charge. AHAHAHA! So I’ll have to tell I’m NOT that crafty and find a way to confuse her as to why I sent her the pics of your hats. Hopefully she’ll forget enough so I can pay you and then you can send her the hat. With a note from me and you! 🙂 Speaking of my friend, her book release party is tonight on Facebook…wanna go? I’ll send you the link if you want to. Or are able to.

      • Lol, believe it or not, I used to HATE reading and writing! It wasn’t until my mother made me sit down and read books over the phone to my grandmother that I started to like them. And now look at me! 😀 And I would love to attend your friends book release party on Facebook! Not sure what it entitles, but I’m always up for supporting a fellow writer! What’s her book about?

That’s too funny that she thinks you made it. Lol, my dad does that to me every time I send him something like that! Fingers crossed that she doesn’t suspect too much. 😉 Maybe just tell her that you seen it and it made you think of her and her personality. That’s not suspicious. 😉

      • Hi again! 🙂

Aw! I love how you came to love reading and writing. That’s SO sweet! ❤ 🙂 ❤ I was raised by my grandparents. And the only book I read as a child was Alice in Wonderland. And I loved it! ❤ Hehe, yes…let's hope she won't suspect anything, or for much longer anyway. You're idea is great, by the way! Okay, so her book is a book of letters written for authors at all stages of their writing journey. It is the most precious and inspiring and encouraging little book ever. Very unique and much needed! Here's the link to her party on Facebook. The time zone is set for eastern time: 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/events/712601472561404/?notif_t=event_aggregate&notif_id=1575554000307630

      • Oh my gosh that sounds like such an amazing book! It sounds like a great book to inspire writers to write more. ❤ I can't wait to check out the event! Also, you just gave me a perfect idea for one of my Blogmas posts! The story of how I got into writing, thanks! 🙂
