Are you doing what you love..?

Sometimes in life, we wonder why we’re here.

What is our purpose?  Why do we do the things we do?  And does it even make a difference?

Earlier today I watched a video from this YouTuber I’m subscribed to.  He has been on YouTube for 10 years.  In those ten years he made a name for himself.  He became one of the TOP YouTubers, as well as a respected YouTuber.  However, after building up a name for himself, he’s willing to leave his fame up to the fates by deciding to do a different type of video on his channel.  He is choosing to explore new options of creativity, despite the fact that his fans may not follow him into this new chapter of his life.  He chose to follow his heart and try something new, instead of following the fame and the money by doing the same thing he’s been doing.

Guys!  How many of us can truly say that?!

So it got me thinking..

If money didn’t exist, what would we all be doing right now?  Seriously, I want to know your answers!  Tell me in the comments below what you would be doing with your life if money and debt wasn’t hanging over your heads!

(For all of you out there that take things TOO literally, yes I’m aware that money keeps us going and that it makes us feel like we’re working towards something..  But let’s talk hypothetical for a moment, okay?  Let’s go back to when we were kids and played ‘make believe’.)

You remember when we were kids and we were told that we could be ‘anything’?!  When did that change?!

Was it when we got our first paycheck and realized that taxes suck?

Or was it when we reached a certain age and found out that the world was unfair?

OR was it when someone told us that we couldn’t be anything we wanted to be, and we believed them?

I’m not going to say some of that isn’t true..  Taxes DO suck.  The world is unfair.  BUT I’m not going to tell anyone that they can’t be what they want to be, because it simply isn’t true.

Sure, some people can’t always make a ‘living’ off what they love, but if you love it, do it anyways!  Who cares about what other people think, do what make you happy, and do it with a smile on your face! 🙂

When I started talking about Market Farming to my friends and family, most of them were supportive!  But there were some people out there who loved to tell me that;

‘You couldn’t make a living off farming’

‘You’re too young to be a farmer, farming is for old people’

‘You’ll never make it as a farmer’

‘Farmers are poor, you’ll get more money if you do something else’

‘You can’t raise a family off farming’

I AM SO TIRED OF HEARING THAT!!!  I’ll be a market farmer if I want to be, and I’ll be phenomenal at it!

I was constantly told as a kid that I could do anything I put my mind to!  ANYTHING!  And that has stuck with me and rung true my whole life.  So why is it that people can tell kids that they can be anything they want to be, but then tell those same ‘kids’ in adult form that they have limitations and that they HAVE to live a certain way?

No!  Not okay!  Today, I’LL be that person who tells you how awesome you are, and that you can do anything!  Seriously!  You CAN do anything you set your mind to!  Ignore those haters and dream crushers and follow your dreams, no matter what they are or how crazy they seam.  It’s better to be able to say ‘I can’t believe I did that’ than to say ‘I wish I had done that’.

No more telling yourself that things are impossible.  You’ll never know what you can do if you don’t get out there and do it.  Your only limitations are the ones you put on yourself.

So get out there and follow your dreams!  Do what you love!  And make plenty of mistakes along the way!

A few ANNOUNCEMENTS before I go..

1. June Debates:

Beginning June 1st, I will be posting ‘June Debates’ where YOU, my readers (and my dear friends), will be presented with a topic that will be up for debate in the comments!  I will present two options on a highly debated topic in the farming/homesteading community (complete with ‘Pros’ and ‘Cons’) and I want you to present which options you would personally choose, and why!  There are no wrong answers, just the opinions of those around the world. ❤

So join in and maybe learn a bit along the way!

2. Etsy Reopened!

After a lot of consideration, I have decided that it’s time to open my Etsy back up.  I was sad to have to shut it down in the first place, but it was a necessary part of keeping the world safe by staying at home and not going out.  But it’s back up and running, and for that, I’m happy. 🙂

3. Check out my facebook!

Don’t forget to check out FarmGirlHomesteading on Facebook!  I post everyday about garden updates, inspirational quotes, gardening tips, and just whatever I’ve been up to that day!

(Click the links below to visit any of my other sites!)

As always, smile, have an amazing day, and prove people wrong when they tell you that you can’t do something! Stay happy my friends! ❤
