Too Early for Christmas Decorations?

~

Happy November Everyone!!!

Gosh, it’s hard to believe it’s November already! It feels like just yesterday we were starting the year off strong by buying our Homestead and planning a wedding! Now somehow, I’m putting up Christmas decorations, baking Christmas cookies, and shopping for Christmas presents for our first Christmas here on the Homestead!

Over the weekend, a good friend of mine was home from college, so I invited her over to bake cookies and watch a movie with me for a ‘girl’s day’. While the cookies were baking, I put up Christmas decorations and strung lights around the living room/dining room! (Above are the day VS night pictures of the living/dining room.) I love the lights all around the house! They really brighten up the place and give it a soft glow with their twinkling lights!

My hubby was of course gone for this girl’s day, which is why I took this opportunity to decorate the house for ‘Winter‘ (he told me I couldn’t decorate for ‘Christmas’ until December). He wasn’t too shocked when he came home, however, and said that he already knew I was going to sneak up Christmas decorations while he was gone. He didn’t mind as much as I thought he would, and he actually said the place looked great! 🥰 Personally, I think he was just happy to come home to a plate of fresh cookies and a clean house. 😉

Anyways! Back to the girls day!

We made some delicious apple cinnamon cookies from a new recipe I found online (click here) and some turtles (recipe coming soon) for my friend and me to split between our families.

After the cookies were done and cooling, we finished our day off with a movie, some pizza, and a session of painting each other’s nails! It was honestly so fun to have a girl’s day, because I never get to hang out with my friends anymore! (Work, a Husband, and owning your own home will do that to your social life.) Most of my friends are at college, busy with their own families, or they work with me and have no social life as well. So it’s nice to get the opportunity to relax at home, bake some cookies, AND do it all with a friend by my side! ❤

The day after my girl’s day, it was family day! I got all dressed up, made another batch of apple cinnamon cookies, and we went and delivered it to a family member of ours who had been sick recently. We spent a few hours visiting family before we finally came back home and relaxed for the rest of the day.

Our weekend was thankfully very uneventful and full of smiles and laughter from friends and family.

I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful weekend as well! May your week be even sweeter! 🍪🍬🍭🍫🧁

As always my lovely readers, smile, have an amazing day, and enjoy some time with friends. ❤ (Animals count as friends too!)
