Plant Update; You Win Some, You Lose Some.

~

In the beginning, there were plants…

LOTS of plants!

Seriously, we were drowning in plants!

And now, most of those plants are taking on a life of their own! They are budding out, flourishing, and some are even exceeding our expectations!

The raspberry and blackberry bushes are doing AMAZING! Some of them are still showing no sign of life, but most of them are growing even more than we expected of them!

I’m honestly not sure how long it’ll take for them to grow into proper bushes, but they are growing pretty fast and I’m shocked at how some of them have exploded with life! (Comment below if you’ve planted berry bushes from small twigs, and how long it took for them to start producing fruit!)

The flowering bushes in the back are doing amazing as well! Out of the five bushes I’ve planted in the back, and the five lilac bushes in the front, only two of them are showing no signs of life. We are taking that as a huge win!

As for the roses we planted in the front, those are doing alright. Most of them were starting to look pretty bad by time I got them planted, as they had been sitting in nothing but sawdust for months before we could plant them! A small handful of them are showing new signs of growth, but quite a few of them are looking sad and turning brown. We shall see how they look at the end of summer, but we are simi-hopeful.

As for the fig trees that we planted in the front, they may be tiny, but they are looking strong and healthy!

And let’s not forget the beautiful Dutch Irises that are up front! Those are all over the front of the house!

For the most part, our plants are doing well, and we can’t wait to see what they look like with more time (after all, we only just planted them)!

COMMENT BELOW! What perennials are you planting this year? What’s growing in your gardens? And as always my lovely readers, smile, have an amazing day, and go get your hands dirty!
