The other morning, we woke up to a blanket of beautiful snow over everything!

There’s just something so magical about the first snowfall of the year! Especially when it’s still dark outside and the fresh powdered snow looks like a billion tiny diamonds. 💎❄️💎❄️💎

After taking some pictures of the front yard covered in snow, it was time to head to work! I was nervous that the snow would melt before I could come home and take pictures of the yard in the daytime, but we had whiteout conditions all day with the snow!

Not only did I come home to even more snow, but our trees were still changing colors in the back, which made for some very colorful snow pictures!

And finally, I was excited to see what the chickens would do with all of this snow! The answer? I opened the door to the pen, but no one wanted to come out and play in the snow! They just looked at me like I was crazy for suggesting they come out and play!

The snow melted the next day with all the rain we’ve been getting, but it certainly won’t be the last snow of the season! And as much as I hate driving on slippery roads, the snow made it feel like Christmas for a day! ❤
