Wedding Planning (Part 2)

Wedding Planning (Part 1)

As I posted in the first part of my Wedding Planning process, I have decided on a date, a season, a theme, and a location. I have gotten games, a dress, and a few other things for the wedding already. But today, we are going to talk about lists! Lists are my favorite part of planning! Because anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE LISTS!

The first list I made for the wedding was a to-do list for everything that needed done. This has been a never-ending list that gets longer as time goes on, but it helps me stay organized and lets me see what we have done and what still needs to be done. It is also color-coded for the people in my wedding planning party. Everyone has a color, and everything is highlighted with a color for the person who’s responsible for said thing.

Checklist of responsibilities:

  • Set a Date,
  • Make a Guest List,
  • Discuss Menu,
  • Pick a Venue,
  • Select Wedding Party,
  • Make Wedding Invitations,
  • Flowers,
  • Find a Photographer,
  • Find a Dress,
  • Hair and Makeup,
  • Music Playlist,
  • Bridal Shower Party,
  • Bachelor Party,
  • Pick Color Scheme and Theme,
  • Make a Venue Map,
  • Make a Wedding Day Survival Kit,
  • Wedding Games,
  • Rings,
  • Decorations,
  • Marriage License,
  • Cake Topper (?),
  • Make a Gift Registry,
  • Discuss Food Options,
  • Make road signs for wedding reception,

The next list to be made was that of Music! My fiancé and I have worked hard on this Wedding Playlist, adding songs from modern day, oldie but goody songs, some Irish music, and a dash of Viking music. Of course, most of the Viking music we could find on Spotify was either war music, or it wasn’t music you could dance to. That being said, we created two different playlists for the party. A playlist for dancing, and an ambiance music playlist for when the party starts out and the guest are arriving and mingling.

Of course, with a wedding, you can never have too many lists! So I also made a list of stuff I needed to pick up for my ‘Wedding Day Survival Bag’ as well.

  • Aspirin
  • Band-Aids
  • Bobby Pins
  • Chap Stick/Lip Gloss
  • Comb
  • Deodorant
  • Fabric Tape
  • Hair Ties
  • Lint Roller
  • Lotion
  • Mirror
  • Safety Pins
  • Small Sewing Kit
  • Small Nail Kit
  • Snacks
  • Pads/Tampons
  • Phone Charger
  • Tissues
  • Water
  • Wet Wipes

In case you didn’t notice, the list above is also alphabeticalized!

And just in case y’all thought I was forgetting about the wedding registry, I haven’t! Of course, I will not be posting that on here, as it shows my address and other stuff. However, I will tell you that we did something cool with our wedding registry!

You see, as my fiancé and I already live together, we knew we didn’t need any of the normal home goods that everyone else puts on their wedding registry. However, we have thought long and hard about it, and since we are going to start up looking for a homestead again right after we get married, we made our wedding gift registry a list of homesteading items that we may need! Half of what is on there are books, because you can never go wrong with books and knowledge! But other items we have on that list are things like a dehydrator, solar lights, a pressure cooker, gardening tools, cheese cloth, rope, etc. We add more as time goes on, and we do have a few items for the house, but it’s mostly stuff we will need for homesteading and we are excited that we get to share that with our families.

Not only do we have a list for our wedding registry, but we also have a list going of stuff we still need to buy for the wedding itself, like plates and cups for the wedding, flower crowns for all of the lovely ladies, and wax seals for wedding invitations.

So in conclusion, I like lists, and there are a LOT of lists I get to make at the moment. In fact, I have a whole Pinterest bored dedicated to JUST wedding planning lists, and it’s my little slice of heaven at the moment. ❤

That’s it for todays wedding post. I’ll have more later! In the meantime, smile, have an amazing day, and tell me what you think of my lists!
