Weekly Update by Our Morning Fire

~

Good morning from our homestead hearth to yours. ❤

This morning my hubby woke up and surprised me with a warm fire to sit next to. ❤ We did a fire yesterday morning as well, and hubby cleaned out the firepit out after yesterday’s fire, so it was time for a ‘new’ fire in the ‘clean’ firepit.. (Any excuse to play in fire around here…)

We started this week off with a Memorial Day parade that got rained out, and a trip to the local antique shops where I found some really cute holiday jewelry! On Memorial Day (Monday) we had given a few of the flag pins out to some of my family at the parade, and then the rest of them went to hubby’s family at a cookout later that afternoon.

We have also been watching the chicks grow this week, and it’s been amazing to watch just how fast they have gone from being an itty-bitty chick, to being so big that it takes two hands and incredible speed to catch them now!

And speaking of chicken… 😉 Hubby and I are trying to get back into eating healthier, which means we have been cooking up some good food in the kitchen this week! Friday’s dinner menu was green beans, herbed potatoes, and stovetop fried chicken strips. ❤

This week’s update in the gardens will also be a small one. The roses on the side of the house are finally blooming! Although the ones in the front yard are still finding their footing, the beautiful roses that were already planted on the side of the house are in full bloom right now! We are loving the pop of color it adds to the house, and we are noticing that all our neighbors have rose bushes as well that are blooming bright and fantastic blooms!

With this, I will bid you a good morning and head inside to do the dishes. I hope that everyone starts their week off on a good note and that we can all enjoy the little things like morning fires and blooming roses. ❤ As always, smile, have an amazing day, and go enjoy your day!
