We have a LOT planned for the year 2024! So let’s get into the bigger stuff first and work our way down to the smaller goals.

~

1. Get Married 💍

This Spring, my Fiancé and I shall be officially tying the knot and getting married! We are very excited to be planning our small and intimate courthouse wedding, and even more excited to enter the next chapter of our lives together. ❤

~

2. Buy a House 🏠

Another one of our big goals is to buy a house! As much as we love our apartment, the new owners are making it difficult to live here with all of the sudden changes (including rent increases). We are in the process of looking for a house and we have our fingers crossed that we will find one before we get married. Our main goal is to find a good starter home that still has a big enough yard for growing a garden or two. Since we know we won’t find a house with tons of land, we are going to be starting small and slowly go up from there. We aren’t expecting to find our forever home right now, so we are looking for what we are calling our ‘Starter Homestead’.

3. Grow a Garden 🌱

As stated above, we are looking to buying a house soon. Our goal is to find one with a big enough yard to grow things and have a large garden. With any luck, we can start planting right away and have something to harvest this Fall. Of course, that would imply that we find a house before planting season starts, and it would also imply that we would have the time and money to put a garden in right away. That’s the goal anyways, and I am determined that I will have a garden this year!

4. Do a Farmers Market 🍓🍏🥕

One goal I have for this year is to go back to doing Farmers Markets. Whether that be just once this Summer, or a continues weekly thing, we will have to see. But my goal this year is to do at least one Farmers Market to get me back to the markets I loved and cherished two summers ago. I miss the people, and the confidence I slowly got from selling my own stuff, and I hope that this year will bring that same joy as I find my way back into those Summer markets.

5. Post More on my Blog 💻

I know I say this every year, but I am determined to not only post more, but to post more regularly! I want to grow my blog so that more people out there can read it! (Don’t we all..) And I want to make sure that what I’m writing about actually matters. I don’t want to write just to write (although that IS a big reason I got into blogging), but I want to write inspiring posts that people actually want to read! So that’s what I’m going to be focusing on this year! Writing content that people want to read and making sure that I’m posting it regularly.

6. Declutter Things I Don’t Need 🏺

With my Fiancé and I hopefully moving soon, one thing my family did every time we moved was getting rid of the junk that we no longer needed! It’s a great concept really. When we move, we realize just how much we have that we don’t use, don’t need, or didn’t realize we still had. So one of my New Year Resolutions this year is going to be to go through this apartment and get rid of whatever we don’t need! Either by selling it, donating it, or throwing out the stuff that is broken or useless!

7. Enjoy the Seasons 🌷☀️🍁❄️

This year, one of my goals is to enjoy the seasons more! That means getting out and enjoying them by; going on walks, writing blog posts about the current season, and decorating the house accordingly (and not decorating too soon). With working in retail, which is always one season ahead, it’s hard to enjoy the seasons in the moment. But this year I’m determined not to think too far in advance and just enjoy whatever holiday or season is right there with me, in the moment. <3 It’s time to slow down, breath, and enjoy where I am.

That’s it for my New Year Goals for 2023! Last year I didn’t make any goals, because I knew it was going to be a transformation year for me. And boy was I right! New place, a boyfriend moving up to me, an engagement, and now looking for a house and planning a small wedding reception.. It was certainly a year for growing and transforming my life into what it is right now.  Read more about that below!
