My brother and I were walking through the store the other day and seen some bags for ‘Muddy Buddies’. Having not had what we call ‘Puppy Chow’ in my family (Muddy Buddies) in quite a while, my brother told me that he would buy the ingredients if I made it for the two of us.
I couldn’t pass up an opportunity for practically free Puppy Chow! So we filled a basket with everything we needed (what we didn’t already have at home that is) and went home.
The next day, I asked my mom and dad to send me a picture of the recipe (mostly so that I could post it to my blog with the recipe) and I got to making it!
Puppy Chow
What you need:
9 Cups of Chex Cereal = (1 whole normal sized cereal box)
1 Cup of Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup of Butter (1 Stick)
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups of Powdered Sugar
1 Big Container (With Lid)
Tiny Saucepan
Directions:
1. Grab a tiny saucepan and put the Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chips, and Butter into it. Put it on low and wait for the butter and chocolate chips to melt. (This may take a while..) Stir frequently so that the chocolate and butter don’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
2. Next, pour 9 cups (or one whole bag) of Chex cereal into a big bowl (make sure the bowl has a lid!).
3. When the sauce is done, pour the Chocolate Sauce all over the top of the cereal. Put the lid on the container and shake it up really good!
4. Time to add the Powdered Sugar! Now shake it up again!
Now for my favorite part! You get to eat it!!! It’s that simple to make!
For my brother and I, I had to split it into two bags so that we didn’t fight over who ate more than the other sibling.. (Normal sibling problems.)
After it cools down, I recommend adding another 1/2 Cup of Powdered Sugar and shaking it up again. (If it lasts that long..)
I hope you all enjoy my short but simple recipe for Puppy Chow!

Lol, that happens to me a lot too! (Kinda glad I’m not the only one 😉 ) And I love how simple it is to make too! That was actually my first time making it in YEARS and I was so worried that it was going to be a lot harder than it actually was! (I secretly hope that my brother wants it again too and buys the stuff to make it..)

Aw! That is SO sweet how you and your brother bought the missing ingredients to make Puppy Chow/Muddy Buddies. It’s simple to make and looks so tasty! 🙂
I’m SO happy to see all your new blog posts popping in my inbox, and I’m doing what I can to read each one, making sure not miss any of your posts. I’ve been working on my new fiction book (NaNoWriMo 2019) and finishing two books so I can write my reviews.
I also have not forgotten to make videos on anxiety, writing, and my smile journey. But I’m still waiting on my aligners (should arrive any day now) and I may be able to make a new video today. Watching videos how to make better quality videos, full screen, and how to edit them–takes up a lot of my time. LOL!
CONGRATS on your new Etsy Shop! Can’t wait to read your post about it.
I HOPE you have a very blessed day and wonderful weekend. Talk to you soon.
Hugs & Prayers,
~Jannette
