~
Today was a not so fun day.. The apartments were spraying for bugs today, something they are now going to do every three months. There couldn’t be anyone in the apartment for two house, so, my fiancé and I packed up the cats and brought them to my parents house. During those two hours, we did some laundry, I did some crocheting, and my fiancé played some video games with my father.
One of the things we had to do to prepare for this bug spraying (besides cleaning the apartment as best we could) was to take everything off the top of the fridge and empty out all of the cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink.
When we got back home with the cats, I spent a few hours in the kitchen putting everything back together and organizing the disaster that was our ‘pantry’.

The first thing I did was put everything back under the kitchen sink and above the fridge. After that, I started cleaning up one side of the kitchen where the wall has been looking a little bad. There were bags full of bags, boxes we had yet to unpack from moving, and random other things that had just gotten thrown against the wall to get it out of the way. It looks much better now!
While we were out today, I also crocheted two bag holders for all of the plastic bags we had floating around. I have been meaning to do this for a while now, and I have just now gotten around to doing it.

One of the bag holders was slightly bigger than I was intending, but it ended up being used to it’s fullest potential. These bags are mostly used for cleaning out the litter box every morning and trash bags in the bathroom and bedrooms. It took me about two hours to do the dark blue one, and about an hour and a half to do the light blue one.
After cleaning up the wall, I decided to get to work on the rest of the kitchen.. One of the shelves we use as our ‘cupboard’ was getting kind of messy, especially with the countless boxes of tea all over. So I decided to dedicate a corner of the kitchen counter to a tea/hot cocoa/coffee corner. It looks much better than the empty counter we had before, and it gives us a proper place for our tea (although it’s not yet cool enough to be drinking hot tea). Plus, it clears up room on our shelves for all of the spices that have been stacking up!

After fixing the spices on the top shelf, I took our boxes of noodles and other baking items and started putting them in my airtight storage containers for safe keeping. Thankfully, we don’t have any sugar ants here like we used to have down south, but I still like my food to be safely put away. Most of it was already in these containers, but we had just recently went shopping and picked up a few things, and I was too lazy to put them away.

And of course, I figured I would make the cans look nice as long as I was organizing things!

My kitchen looks so much better now! And I feel absolutely giddy walking into the kitchen to grab a glass of water or to put something in the sink. It’s amazing what a little bit of cleaning can do to make you feel better! Although I felt a lot like ‘if you give a mouse a cookie’ today.
As always my lovely readers, Smile, have an amazing day, and find something to clean today!
